Our Key Case Studies
Reduction in Fuel Emissions Across Truck Sets
Government Mining Company, UAE
A pilot project was conducted across four sets of heavy-duty mining trucks to evaluate FuelMaxx's impact on diesel fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. One truck in each set served as a control unit while the other was fitted with the FuelMaxx device.
Methodology: 250-hour baseline data collection, followed by a 250-hour conditioning period post-installation, and a final 250-hour post-conditioning evaluation. Emissions were assessed using an HPC501 gas analyser before and after installation.
Results: Significant reductions in both fuel consumption and harmful emissions were recorded across all four truck sets. Based on the outcomes, full fleet deployment was recommended.
33% Fuel Efficiency Gain on Main Propulsion. 8.33% on Auxiliary
Commercial Barge Fleet
FuelMaxx was integrated on two engines aboard a commercial barge, a 1,600 kW HIMSEN main propulsion engine and a 317 kW Cummins auxiliary engine. Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC), measured in litres per kilowatt hour, was used as the primary performance indicator.
Methodology: Fuel consumption, engine operating hours, and kWh output were recorded during BOSP and EOSP operations by the onboard engineering team before and after FuelMaxx installation.
Results: Main Engine: 33% fuel efficiency gain Auxiliary Engine: 8.33% fuel efficiency gain.
Measurable CO2 and NOx Reductions Across 2,000 Plus Engine Hours
Fortune 500 Oil and Gas Company, Oman
FuelMaxx was installed on four diesel engines within a frac fleet operated by a Fortune 500 oil and gas company. Pre and post-installation emissions were measured using the HPC501 gas analyser across key parameters including HC, CO, CO2, O2, and NOx.
Methodology: Baseline emissions were established before installation. Post-installation testing was conducted after 250 hours of operation across a combined total of 2,000 plus engine hours across all four test engines.
Results: Measurable reductions in fuel consumption and harmful emissions were recorded, particularly in CO2 and NOx levels. No performance-related issues were observed or reported across the testing period. All units performed as per factory design.
Fuel Consumption and CO2 Reduced Across All Engine Speeds
Marine Maintenance Company, UAE
FuelMaxx was installed on a Komatsu diesel generator set operating at 113 kW. Baseline and post-installation emissions were measured across idle, medium, and full engine speeds using a calibrated HPC501 emissions analyser.
Methodology: Emissions parameters including CO2, HC, NOx, CO, and O2 were measured at three engine speeds before installation and again after 250 plus hours of operation with FuelMaxx in place. Fuel consumption was estimated using the European Standard formula developed by Heseding and Daskalopoulos (2006).
Results: Measurable reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were confirmed. Objectives across fuel consumption, GHG emissions, and engine efficiency KPIs were successfully achieved.
